A Way of Being

Not many people inspire me as complete person. Most of the time, they will be good at something while lacking in other areas of their lives. A woman with the whole package of being beautiful, smart, elegance, fashionable, great hostess, and good company all at once is extremely rare. Some women have one or two qualities but finding someone who is everything? Almost impossible. I am very lucky that I have one person in my life that serves as an everyday inspiration to me by being all these things. She oozes elegance and is everything I want to be.

When I need to decide something (and have the presence of mind to pause), I ask myself what this lady would do. I always choose the higher option. The most generous, the most elegant, and the most gracious.

So what are the qualities this perfect woman in my vision possesses?

• Whether it is just family or a friend circle, she has the grace to introduce everyone to each other with their proper names.

• She is generous when she invites you to a gathering or a dinner. She caters to your dietary needs and restrictions.

• She presents herself impeccably on an everyday basis, not just for special occasions.

• She uses her best things everyday because she deems herself worthy of nice things.

• Her makeup is expertly applied, hair is always done, and has the most alluring perfume.

• She takes time for herself and does not make her partner the centre of her life.

• She can hold a conversation about most things but when she does not know enough about a subject, she listens instead of changing the subject to something she can contribute to.

• She is vulnerable but not a damsel in distress.

• She keeps her home as a heaven for herself and her family. Her home is her pride.

• She does not chase friendships, relationships, or even connection with her children. She knows that with the work she puts in, they will come to her.

• She is happy and grateful for all she has while being ambitious about the future.

While I do not know if some of these things are true (maybe she is also insecure and feels inferior), this inspiring woman always gives off the most relaxed, confident allure.

If you do not know someone like this in your life, I would recommend that you search for inspiration in television shows or movies. I adore the character of Cassie Nightingale in Good Witch. What a poised, charming character. As we continue to see a barrage of insipid characters being thrown our way on every show, it is very nurturing to return to shows with characters that showcase excellent behaviour and taste.
